Montreal, November 13, 2012 ... GAL Aviation of St. Joseph, Quebec, Canada has been recognized by Transport Canada as an Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO #27-12) sequential to prior major accreditations and certifications including AS9100 Rev C and NADCAP (alodine & anodizing anti-corrosion treatments). Equivalent European certification (EASA) has been applied for and is currently in the approval process. GAL Aviation expects the EASA approval to be in hand by the end of 2012. A bilateral agreement between United States and Canadian aviation authorities automatically gains FAA approval following the AMO certificate.

The new approval, pursuant to Transport Canada CAR 573, allows GAL to perform and certify work on repairs and modifications, on composite and sheet metal structures for business aircraft interiors, both ‘green’ and in-service. As well, GAL can offer complete airframe technical support through its technical services division.

Marc St-Hilaire, GAL Aviation vice-president, business development, said the AMO is another major and essential accreditation allowing access to a worldwide fleet of in-service business aircraft. “We are now fully covered and capable of comprehensive cabin work packages for a wide variety of aircraft platforms. The market for our products and services is very strong both domestically and internationally and as we continue to grow, our accreditations strongly validate the precision of our internal procedures, vital to our operation’s success.”
