EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wis. — (November 12, 2012) — The EAA Personal Insurance Plan is now helping aviators make sure they are fully covered when they fly and even at times when they may not be in the air.
The EAA Personal Insurance Plan’s coverage picks up where traditional life insurance stops by including nearly all aviation and non-aviation activities, at a fraction of the cost of amending existing life insurance. It also applies to pilots flying any aircraft with an FAA airworthiness certificate, including amateur-builts and light-sport aircraft.
“This is insurance protection that EAA members have requested from their organization,” said Heidi Strand, EAA vice president of marketing. “Traditional life insurance usually doesn’t cover aviation activities, except with expensive policy add-ons and amendments. EAA provides coverage without underwriting requirements provide security where traditional life insurance stops, with no increase in premiums or decrease in coverage because of age. There is no other plan that serves the diverse community of aviators as well as the EAA plan.”
The EAA Personal Insurance Plan will pay benefits up to $250,000 where traditional life insurance will not and will also pay in addition to areas covered by traditional life insurance plans, providing extra security for pilots and their families. The EAA Personal Insurance Plan can be expanded to include a spouse and family for a minimal additional cost.
