Sheltair Announces New FBO Operations At Albert Whitted Airport

Sheltair SPG will be providing full FBO services out of the Galbraith terminal building at Albert Whitted Airport as well as managing on behalf of the City more than 80 T-hangars and 27,000 square feet of corporate hangar space

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla.  (November   8th, 2012) – Sheltair, Florida’s largest, privately-owned group of fixed base operations (FBOs), has announced its newest FBO and property leasing location will be Albert Whitted Airport in St. Petersburg, Florida (Sheltair SPG). Sheltair SPG commenced operations on November 1 as the sole service provider on the airfield.

Sheltair SPG will be providing full FBO services out of the Galbraith terminal building at Albert Whitted Airport as well as managing on behalf of the City more than 80 T-hangars and 27,000 square feet of corporate hangar space. The terminal is located on the northwest side of the airport in the heart of downtown St. Petersburg and adjacent to the historic Albert Whitted Hangar One where National Airlines, one of the nation’s first airlines, began service in 1934. Albert Whitted Airport is nationally recognized as the birthplace of scheduled airline flight as the first scheduled aircraft flight took off near the airport in 1914.
