It has signed a three-year, non-exclusive time and materials (T&M) contract with Italian air carrier NEOS to provide maintenance and repair services to the company's CFM56-7B engines.
ATLANTA, October 9, 2012 - Delta Air Lines' (NYSE: DAL) maintenance division, Delta TechOps, has signed a three-year, non-exclusive time and materials (T&M) contract with Italian air carrier NEOS to provide maintenance and repair services to the company's CFM56-7B engines.
NEOS selected Delta TechOps due to the maintenance, repair and overhaul's (MRO) demonstrated high level of service and support for this engine type, as well as the organization's ability to satisfy the unique needs of a carrier our size, said Marco Brusa, Technical Director for NEOS.
"Delta TechOps was the perfect fit for our organization," he said. "In addition to their proven track record with the CFM56-7B engine, they can deliver the precise level of flexibility we need in shop input date and spare engine availability."
About NEOS:
Located in Milan, Italy, NEOS was founded in 2001 as a carrier fully dedicated to support the Alpitour Group, the leading tourist operator in Italy. Initially configured as a 737-800/W operator, NEOS was equally owned by Italy’s Alpitour Group and TUI Group of Germany. In 2004, it became a completely Italian-owned company after the acquisition of the full share by Alpitour.
In 2005, the first 767-300ER entered into service, followed by an additional aircraft in 2006. This allowed NEOS to add long-haul destinations to their route offering. With approximately 500 employees, NEOS provides full-term aircraft leases on behalf of third-party operators to optimize aircraft utilization during slow seasons.
NEOS is an approved EU-OPS operator with its own Part 145 certification to cover line maintenance up to C checks on its 737 and 767 aircraft. They have also been an ETOPS 180 operator since 2005 and ETOPS 120 since 2004.
