Wayne Thomson Joins BBA Aviation ERO as Regional Field Service Engineer for Australasia

Thompson will be responsible for supporting ERO's customer base in the region: primarily operators of TFE731, GTCP 36 series APUs, PW100 and PT6A engines.

Dallas, Texas…October 4, 2012… Wayne Thomson has joined BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO) as Regional Field Service Engineer for Australasia. Thompson will be responsible for supporting ERO’s customer base in the region: primarily operators of TFE731, GTCP 36 series APUs, PW100 and PT6A engines.

“As part of our F1RST SUPPORT global service, Wayne will integrate with the Dallas Airmotive team in Singapore and will provide the required field service support of customers in Asia Pacific,” stated Andy Preston, Programme Director for BBA Aviation ERO RTCs and Field Service for EMEA and Emerging Markets. “Wayne has a depth of product and field experience from his years with an OEM and has an excellent established reputation in the Australian market.”

Thomson will be based in Brisbane, Australia. Prior to joining ERO, he spent 14 years with Pratt & Whitney Canada at its overhaul, repair and field service operation in Brisbane where he worked his way progressively from Apprentice to Shift Supervisor, to Supervisor all engine types, and most recently Mobile Repair Lead Technician. He has traveled Australasia extensively and worked to extend mobile repair team coverage for the region. Thompson has OEM training and holds inspector certifications from FAA, EASA, RAAF and DGCA (Indonesia) on virtually all turboprop, turboshaft and turbofan engines used by business, general aviation and regional airlines operated in Australasia.
