NEW YORK, NY July 30, 2012 – JFI Jets, a worldwide provider of aircraft management and charter services, announced that Bob Seidel has joined the company as chief executive officer. He replaces Bill Cripe who will take a sabbatical leave of absence.
Seidel assumes responsibilities for JFI Jets' operations worldwide and will be based at the company's office in New York.
Seidel was most recently general manager and senior vice president of Jet Aviation's U.S. aircraft management and charter division. In that role he oversaw the growth of the managed business jet fleet from 46 to 73 during the biggest economic downturn in the history of private aviation. Before joining Jet Aviation in 2004 he was mid-west sales director for Gulfstream Aerospace. He began his aviation career after graduating from the United States Naval Academy as a Naval Flight Officer. He holds a masters degree in business from the Kellogg School.
Within the last 18 months JFI Jets has expanded its services to tap new sources of revenue and new markets in other countries including Russia. JFI has operating bases in Long Beach, CA., Farmingdale, NY, and Moscow. Last year JFI Jets provided trips to more than 35 countries. This year The JFI JetCenter at Long Beach was recognized as one of the top five southwest U.S. fixed base operation (FBO), the only California FBO in that ranking. The JetCenter also was voted the 27th best FBO in the country.
JFI Jets' repair station in Long Beach this year was awarded a Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) Part145 Repair Station Certificate from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that allows JFI to perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and alterations on a number of aircraft models that are well represented within the JFI fleet.
