July 21, 2012, Los Angeles, CA—Craig Fuller, president and CEO of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, Pete Bunce, president and CEO of the General Aviation Manufacturers Association and Jeff Skiles, ‘Miracle on the Hudson’ first officer and Chairman of Young Eagles for the Experimental Aircraft Association will all speak at Build A Plane’s Teachers’ Day Tuesday morning, July 24th in the Founder’s Wing at EAA headquarters in Oshkosh, WI.

Teachers from across the United States will attend presentations from organizations like the National Air & Space Museum, the Federal Aviation Administration, Fly to Learn, Honeywell, Civil Air Patrol and more.  The free, half day program is a production of Build A Plane, Inc., and is made possible through the generosity of EAA and GAMA.  All presentations are designed to empower teachers to put more aviation into elementary through high school classrooms.

“This has become the largest teacher’s aviation forum in the U.S.,” Katrina Bradshaw, Build A Plane’s executive director, said.  Attending teachers will get free parking and admission into AirVenture, compliments of EAA, and a free lunch thanks to the Wolf Aviation Fund and the National Coalition of Aviation and Space Education.

Teachers can register for Teachers’ Day through Monday, July 23rd at BuildAPlane.org.

Build A Plane is a non-profit organization that gives kids a chance to build real airplanes in school, placing more than 200 general aviation aircraft into schools across the United States since 2003.  Airplanes built by kids in Build A Plane programs have flown in for display this year at AirVenture.
