FlightSafety's First Challenger 605 Simulator Receives EASA and FAA Level D Qualification

LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, New York (July 12, 2012) – FlightSafety International’s first Bombardier Challenger 605 aircraft simulator has been qualified to Level D by the European Aviation Safety Agency and the United States Federal Aviation Administration. Training using this new simulator is now available at FlightSafety’s London Farnborough Learning Center.

The Challenger 605 full flight simulator was designed and manufactured by FlightSafety to replicate the exact flying characteristics of the aircraft. It features the company’s electric motion and control loading technology and newly enhanced VITAL X visual system. FlightSafety’s wide range of training programs for the Challenger 605 are taught by the company’s highly qualified and experienced instructors using industry leading courseware and the MATRIX integrated training system.

The simulator is equipped with the Rockwell Collins ProLine21 avionics suite, Electronic Flight Information System, Engine Indicating and Crew Alerting System, Integrated Flight Information System with electronic charts, Triple FMS-6000 Flight Management Systems, Collins TCAS-4000, Triple Honeywell LASERREF V Inertial Reference System, Integrated Radio Tuning with Rockwell Collins ProLine 21 VHF/Nav radios, Collins WXR-854 Weather Radar, Honeywell Mark V EGPWS, Dual Collins GPS-4000, Integrated electronic standby instruments and a Collins 6605 Head-Up Guidance System.

The London Farnborough Learning Center can accommodate up to 15 full flight simulators and has the capacity to train 3,800 aviation professionals annually. It offers 27 interactive classrooms, facilities for advanced technology training devices, 30 briefing rooms and customer service areas. The Center provides training programs for business and regional aircraft manufactured by Bombardier, Cessna, Gulfstream, Hawker Beechcraft and Sikorsky.
