MAG, Inc. Expands U.S. Operation to Hagerstown Regional Airport (HGR) in Western Maryland

July 6, 2012

MAG, Inc., a Philadelphia-based helicopter and fixed wing Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) provider, and completion and special missions aircraft customizer, will be expanding its U.S. operation to Hagerstown Regional Airport (HGR) in Washington County, Maryland effective immediately.  This is the culmination of many months of ground work by company executives with airport and Washington County officials.

MAG’s Hagerstown operation will be housed in a state-of-the-art, 17,000 square foot aircraft hangar located in the airport’s northwest quadrant.  Operating under a Federal Aviation Administration “Repair Station” certificate, MAG is expected to attract a wide variety of aircraft, both civilian and military, to HGR.  In addition, the company will create at least 18 new jobs with an average salary paying $50,000.

The President of MAG’s U.S. operations, Mr. Ed Pears stated, “Broadening the company’s capabilities geographically and logistically has been our focus for some time and Hagerstown has been foremost in those considerations.  The airport’s location, infrastructure, and interstate connectivity all contributed to our decision, but the recent availability of this building permitted us to commit to the expansion.  We see huge opportunity at HGR.”

President of the Board of Washington County Commissioners Terry Baker noted, “Washington County welcomes MAG to the HGR family and we are excited about the economic development opportunities this operation presents.  MAG’s strong helicopter client base is very appealing and will help broaden both HGR’s MRO and Department of Defense offerings.  We look forward to working with Mr. Pears and his team.”

Pears expects the Hagerstown operation to be in service by August 30, 2012.
