Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. Names Pedro Mercado a National Sales Manager for Interior Refurbishment

SAVANNAH, Ga., June 29, 2012 — Gulfstream Aerospace Corp. recently named Pedro Mercado a national sales manager for Product Support Interior Refurbishment Sales.   Mercado’s territory is the Eastern Seaboard of the United States, from South Carolina to Maine.  He reports to Matthew Duntz, director, Product Support Interior Refurbishment Sales.

In his new position, Mercado is responsible for sales of interior aircraft enhancements for Gulfstream customers. These include avionics upgrades, interior component replacement and reconfiguration, the installation of sound-suppression materials, and paint services.

Most recently, Mercado spent nearly five years as a service center supervisor for Interior Refurbishment at Gulfstream Long Beach in California. His duties included overseeing multiple interior refurbishment programs, from the preplanning stage to the aircraft induction and delivery stages.

His 16-year Gulfstream career also includes five years as the lead in three areas of Product Support: Aircraft Systems, Interior Panels and the Avionics back shop.  Mercado also spent five years as an aircraft and powerplant (A&P) technician and plumber in Aircraft Systems.

Mercado joined the aviation industry in 1995 as an A&P technician for Southern Aviation Maintenance in Santa Ana, Calif.  He earned his A&P license at Aviation High School in Queens,N.Y.
