MIDDLETOWN, Del., June 7, 2012 – Summit Aviation, a Greenwich AeroGroup company, announced today it has received AS9100C (AS9100:2009) Aerospace Quality Standard System Certification for its Middletown, Del., and Somerset, Ky., facilities.
“This certification demonstrates our commitment to meet or exceed the increasingly stringent industry requirements as a world-class supplier,” said President of Summit Aviation Robert Fitzpatrick. “This certification standardizes our quality processes across many of our programs to ensure continued process and service safety, reliability and quality.”
AS9100 addresses the diversity and complexity of the industry’s supply chain and takes into consideration the complete life cycle of aerospace products. Summit’s Delaware facility has been certified to the AS9100B standard since 2007, and the Kentucky facility received initial certification in 2010.
Fitzpatrick added that the increased requirements of AS9100C will benefit all of Summit Aviation’s customers as Summit continues its focus in the areas of risk management, project planning, and formal evaluation of process effectiveness.
Located in Middletown, Delaware, the company also offers aircraft and engine maintenance and modification services on Bell, Eurocopter, Sikorsky, Boeing and MD helicopters as well as on Pilatus, Cessna, Beechcraft King Airs, Beechjets and other light jet model aircraft. The company also provides engine maintenance and support to its customers which include Pratt & Whitney, Turbomeca, and others. The Somerset Kentucky facility, Summit’s Manufacturing Center, offers new dynamic manufacture, assembly and testing along with aerostructures manufacturing and assembly.
