Airbus and Lufthansa Technik Renew General Agreement About VIP Business Cooperation

Airbus and Lufthansa Technik have renewed their general agreement about the cooperation in the VIP and Executive Jet business and will continue to further develop their successful partnership in this area. Since 1998 both companies have already been working closely in the completion of Airbus Corporate Jets.

Within the ACJ318 Program Lufthansa Technik is the cabin interior partner of Airbus. So far, 15 ACJ318 cabin completions have been delivered out at the Lufthansa Technik VIP & Executive Jet completion center in Hamburg and at its US subsidiary BizJet International, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Currently, two ACJ318 are under completion, further three aircraft are already scheduled and will be completed in Tulsa in the future.

Walter Heerdt, Senior Vice President Marketing & Sales at Lufthansa Technik mentioned: "The renewal of the existing agreement between Airbus and Lufthansa Technik is a strong signal to the VIP market. Two of the largest and most successful players in this business segment further expand their relationship and thus will continue to offer the highest quality for our customers also in the future."

Beside the cooperation in the ACJ318 program both companies also work regularly together in the highly individual VIP completion business for the A320 - and the A330 / A340 - families. In 2010 and 2011 two ACJ319 and two A340-300 had been completed and delivered to the German Government. Currently, Lufthansa Technik still has several Airbus aircraft for private customers in its order book.
