PrimeFlight Adds Regional Director Of Field Support

PrimeFlight provides ground handling for all major airlines in 46 U.S. airports

PrimeFlight Aviation Services, a leading national provider of passenger and ground handling services for the aviation industry, has added David Kuhns as its Director for Field Support in the Southeast region, according to Mark Marudas, Executive Vice President.

Kuhns brings broad and varied experience in the aviation industry to PrimeFlight, having led large facets of companies on two occasions with more than 7,000 employees across more than 45 business units.
He comes to PrimeFlight from Eulen America, a supplier of labor and management solutions for the airline industry, where he served as the Chief Operating Officer since 2008. The company has annualized revenues in excess of $55 million. Prior to that he served as Vice President and Chief Operating Officer for Division Americas, part of Gate Gourmet, a $2.5 billion dollar global catering business with a concentration in the airline industry.
Marudas welcomed Kuhns, saying, “David brings a wealth of experience that will create unique opportunities for PrimeFlight’s ongoing growth. His 25 years of airline operational experience overseeing large work groups across all facets of airline operations, including passenger services, ramp operations, baggage transfer, and in-flight operations, will further our ability to serve our customers with innovative solutions. Kuhns has been in the aviation industry since 1983. He joined American Airlines in 1990 serving as a Managing Director for the airline’s Miami and JFK operations until 1999 when he became Vice President with responsibility for American Eagle’s Florida, Bahamas and Caribbean operations. He served in that capacity prior to joining Gate Gourmet. He received his B.S. in Business Management from Kutztown State College in Kutztown, PA.

PrimeFlight currently provides a range of passenger assistance and ground handling services for all major airlines in 46 airports across the country. It is part of SMS Holdings, also based in Nashville, the parent company for a diverse group of operating companies providing facility and security management services in the shopping center, hospitality, medical, education, sporting venue and aviation industries.
