Dallas Airmotive Expands HTF7000 Field Support; Acquires Tooling and Inventory from CTS

It is expanding its field service support for the Honeywell HTF7000 engine by acquiring the tooling and inventory from Consolidated Turbine Support, Inc. (CTS) of Mesa, AZ.


Dallas, Texas…May 7, 2012… Dallas Airmotive, a BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul Group company, is expanding its field service support for the Honeywell HTF7000 engine by acquiring the tooling and inventory from Consolidated Turbine Support, Inc. (CTS) of Mesa, Arizona. The tooling and inventory along with Dallas Airmotive (DAI) Mobile Response technicians will be based at DAI’s Phoenix Regional Turbine Center and provide 24 hour, around the clock response coordinated through the company’s F1RST SUPPORT™ network.

“Newer engines such as the HTF7000 are designed for on-condition service,” commented Hugh McElroy, President of BBA Aviation Engine Repair and Overhaul (ERO). “This means routine inspections and service needs will be handled increasingly on-wing rather than in an MRO facility. In anticipation of this trend, we have been growing our field service coverage to keep pace with the increasing presence of engines such as the HTF7000. We have been in discussions with CTS for some time and by acquiring their tooling and inventory we are able to provide a jump-start in our support for this engine.”

Dallas Airmotive’s Phoenix RTC hold a Honeywell Minor Level service authorization for the HTF7000. A Minor Level authorization enables the holder to perform advanced field support work such as combustor inspection and replacement, MPI and CZI borescope inspections, on-wing power assurance test runs, and sign-off for on-condition engines.

There are currently more than 600 HTF7000 engines operating worldwide on Bombardier Challenger 300 business jets and soon will enter service on the Gulfstream G280 and Embraer Legacy 450/550 jets. Approximately 80% of the fleet is registered in either the USA or Europe.

“We now have more than 115 field service technicians positioned around the globe, more than any independent engine company,” continued McElroy. “We’ll be adding HTF7000 field technicians in Phoenix ready for dispatch wherever needed. Since most HTF7000 are U.S. based we think Phoenix will be an ideal dispersal point for their services.”
