CFM Signs CFM56-7B Material Support Agreement with Delta Air Lines
DALLAS, Texas — April 4, 2012 — CFM International has signed a suite of material support agreements with Delta Air Lines to support the airline’s fleet of nearly 400 CFM56-7B engines in service or on order, as well as its maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations for third party airlines.
The agreements provide for the comprehensive repair and replacement of life-limited and non-life limited parts for the CFM56-7Bengine. The agreements also provide Delta with technical data for componentrepairs and engine overhaul to assist their operations.
"We are pleased to further develop our long-standing relationship with CFM and extend it into our MRO support of the CF56-7B engine," said Bob Currey, managing director of Supply Chain Management for Delta Air Lines.
"There is a great synergy in this agreement,” said Jean-Paul Ebanga, president and CEO of CFM. "Delta was one of our original customers and we are delighted to see them bring all the benefits of genuine CFM parts not only its own fleet, but also to its customers’ fleets. CFM is pleased to become more closely aligned with one of the largest and most respected maintenance providers in the world."
CFM56 engines are a product of CFM International (CFM), a 50/50 joint company between Snecma (Safran group) and GE. To date, CFM has delivered more than 23,000 CFM56 engines to more than 500 operators around the globe.
