Silver Airways Announces Job Openings for New Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV) Station

March 13, 2012

GAINESVILLE, FL – (March 13, 2012) – Silver Airways Corp. is staffing-up in advance of the April 15, 2012 opening of its new station at Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV).  A total of 11 jobs are currently open, including positions for station manager, supervisor and customer service agent.  An additional 20-30 openings will be filled in the coming weeks for technical, operations, and administrative positions at the carrier’s new 61,000 square-foot maintenance facility located on the southwest quadrant of Gainesville Regional Airport.

“The decision to staff our new Gainesville station with our own salaried personnel, versus outsourcing the jobs to a third party ground handler, is a reflection of our commitment to the communities we serve and our goal to deliver the highest-quality service to our customers,” said Darrell Richardson, CEO of Silver Airways.

“These new jobs and new business that Silver Airways’ is bringing to GNV are critical to maintaining long-term growth,” says Gainesville Regional Airport CEO Allan Penksa. “Silver Airways’ investment in the Gainesville community is a blessing at a time when many airports our size are losing air service.”

Silver Airways will inaugurate its new Gainesville station with the start of scheduled daily service to Tampa and Orlando beginning April 15, 2012.  The launch of the new service will coincide with the opening of Silver Airways’ new maintenance facility in Gainesville.  In January 2012, the airline announced its intention to relocate its maintenance department from its home base in Fort Lauderdale to a new, state-of-the-art 61,000 square-foot facility at Gainesville Regional Airport (GNV).  The move will be completed by April 2012.
