ARSA: Final FAA Bill Takes “Common Sense” Approach to Maintenance Oversight
ALEXANDRIA, VIRGINIA – February 1, 2012 - Sarah Macleod, executive director of the Aeronautical Repair Station Association (ARSA) released the following statement upon the release of the FAA reauthorization congressional conference report:
“ARSA congratulates House and Senate leaders for reaching agreement on a four-year FAA bill. The Association is pleased to see the hard work of its member pay off in legislation that will allow the aviation maintenance industry to build on its outstanding safety record while remaining competitive in the global marketplace.
“By listening to constituents and taking a commonsense approach, Congress avoided the pitfalls threatening repair stations in prior reauthorization bills. The conference report will protect the more than 274,000 Americans employed in civil aviation maintenance.”
“ARSA will continue to work with lawmakers to ensure that the conference report is enacted as quickly as possible.”
ARSA is an Alexandria, Virginia-based trade association that represents aviation maintenance and manufacturing companies. Founded in 1984, the association has a distinguished record of advocating for repair stations, providing regulatory compliance assistance to the industry, and representing repair stations on Capitol Hill and in the media.
