Sage Parts Expands Contract With Delta Air Lines

Nov. 29, 2011
Sage will supply GSE parts on-site at four Delta locations.

Sage Parts, the world’s leading supplier of replacement parts for ground support equipment, has entered into a new contract with Delta Air Lines whereby Sage
will dispense replacement parts for ground support equipment (GSE) at major Delta airport hubs in Minneapolis (MSP), Memphis (MEM) and Detroit (DET). Those three locations join Sage’s presence at Delta’s Atlanta hub (ATL) where Sage has been providing parts for use in Delta GSE since 2002.

“The success of our relationship with Delta Air Lines through the past decade and the expansion of our onsite parts dispensing centers from one Delta location to four underscores Sage’s business strategy of bringing parts closer to the point of use...saving our customers money by minimizing freight expenses and reducing the costs associated with having to wait for a part to be shipped,” said Mark Pollack, Sage Parts President and CEO. “We are proud to share in Delta’s growth and we look forward to serving their replacement parts needs for many years to come.”

Under terms of the contract, which includes enhanced downline service and parts provisions, Sage will utilize its own highly knowledgeable GSE replacement parts experts to dispense parts at the four major Delta locations. Sage will also manage on-site parts inventories. Sage personnel will work closely with Delta maintenance professionals to ensure that the right parts are readily available for ground support equipment in the Delta fleet – increasing operational efficiencies and helping to keep equipment continually up and running.

“In addition to dramatically reducing the potential for downtime, the important benefits Sage brings to Delta are assurances of consistent product throughout their network, as well as high product quality and extensive visibility of their parts consumption profiles...enabling Delta to procure, stock and utilize GSE replacement parts more cost-effectively,” continued Mr. Pollack.
