TIMCO Aerosystems 3100 FeatherWeight™ Seat Wins Patent Approval

Nov. 2, 2011

Greensboro, North Carolina – 2 November 2011…TIMCO Aerosystems, a unit of TIMCO Aviation Services (“TIMCO”), announced today that its 3100 FeatherWeight™ series seat was issued Patent Number 8,047,613 by the U.S. Patent Office. The cushion-less design saves operators cost through a lower weight which in turn saves fuel burn. The innovative seat design provides high durability and reliability without sacrificing passenger comfort.

The 3100 seat is now offered to customers with a hard shell, contoured back that enhances passenger legroom and stowage space under the seat in a high density configuration.

Rick Salanitri, President of TIMCO Aerosystems, noted that, “We’re confident that this patent, although awarded specifically to our 3100 Series seating line, also represents confirmation that our interiors engineering and manufacturing philosophy is on the right track. Our seats are just one part of an overall interiors innovation and weight reduction program under the FeatherWeightTM banner.” He added, “I’m proud of the team’s achievement and of our ongoing efforts to produce innovative and valuable solutions for customers.”
