IKHANA Aircraft Services' RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Fuselage STC
IKHANA Aircraft Services (IKHANA) announces that imminent award of the RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Fuselage Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) is anticipated from the FAA. The STC provides an additional 66,000 hours/132,000 cycles of useful life to the fuselage of any DHC-6 Series airplane.
“We are submitting our final paperwork and anticipate STC Award any day. The Twin Otter Re-Life STC will give operators an essentially new aircraft with a full useful life,” states Mr. John Zublin, President/CEO of IKHANA. “We have seen the first production aircraft reach the end of their life limits. This STC will provide an attractive economic option for re-creating value in an operator’s aircraft.”
The original -100, -200, and -300 Series Twin Otters, produced from 1965 to 1988, have a fuselage fatigue life limit of 66,000 hours/132,000 cycles. The airplane used for the STC program, a DHC-6-300, was modified at IKHANA’s Murrieta, California facility. The RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Fuselage STC complements IKHANA’s RWMI DHC-6 Re-Life Wing Box, which has been a commercial product since STC award in 1996. Over one hundred Re-Lifed Wing boxes have been manufactured by IKHANA and its predecessor, R.W.Martin, Inc. Aircraft which have been through the Re-Life process will be further customized for a variety of operators as VIP, airliners, and special missions platforms with options such as increased gross weight capability, enhanced air conditioning, glass cockpit avionics, executive interiors, camera hatches and maritime patrol systems. IKHANA is currently accepting production deposits for the aircraft.
