Jet Aviation Names Norbert Ehrich Vice President and General Manager, Central and South America
Zurich / Switzerland, October 07, 2011 – As part of its growth strategy for Central and South America, Jet Aviation has named Norbert Ehrich vice president and general manager of the region.
In his new role, Ehrich will direct activities at the company’s São Paulo and Sorocaba operations while exploring additional business opportunities in Central and South America. He will be responsible for all of Jet Aviation’s lines of business in this region.
“Expanding our Brazilian operations and capturing emerging opportunities in Central and South America requires focused leadership,” said Gary Dempsey, president, U.S. aircraft services. “Ehrich has vast experience in the industry and proven leadership ability to direct the company’s growth in this market.”
Ehrich has been with the company for nearly 20 years, most recently as leader of our FBO operations at Palm Beach, Dallas and St. Louis. He is fluent in English, German and Spanish and has significant international experience including serving as vice president of Jet Aviation’s FBO operations in Saudi Arabia.
“Both of our Brazilian operations continue to grow,” said Ehrich. “Business aviation is becoming increasingly important in this emerging market, and Jet Aviation is leading the charge.”
This year alone, Jet Aviation Sorocaba has added G500, G550, GIV and G150 ratings to its Brazilian repair station. It also completed the first C inspection on a G200 in Brazil. To support the maintenance operation, Jet Aviation added tools and ground support equipment on-site and an AOG van has been added to provide maintenance support off site. The facility now also boasts an approved bonded warehouse at its maintenance and FBO operation in Sorocaba. The secure, 3,000 sq ft (279 sq m) warehouse allows Jet Aviation to clear aircraft parts through customs 24/7.
To help ensure the quality and effectiveness of the services it provides, the Sorocaba maintenance team has undergone more than 2,100 hours of technical training. Several of the technicians have attended Flight Safety training courses and spent time at Jet Aviation’s U.S. operations for on-the-job training.
Through its São Paulo office, Jet Aviation offers aircraft management and charter sales services to a growing list of customers with many international travel needs.
Jet Aviation São Paulo began in 2006 with the opening of an aircraft management and charter division in São Paulo. Available services include the full range of aircraft management and flight support services, as well as charter services. Charter clients have access to a fleet of jet aircraft from Citation CJ3s to Gulfstream 550s and helicopters.
The Sorocaba facility was established in 2009 and is located at Sorocaba Airport (SOD), some 87 kilometers (54 miles) from the city center of São Paulo. The location is an ANAC approved repair station for Gulfstream G200, GIV, G500 and G550 aircraft. The 2,229 square meter (24,000 sq ft) hangar facility, which includes a VIP lounge and private offices, has been fully remodeled to accommodate the maintenance business and offer hangar lease arrangements for business jets clients. Aircraft management and charter brokerage services are also available at the facility.
