LA GUARDIA AIRPORT, New York (Jan. 11, 2006) – FlightSafety International has established a new E-Learning operation and has named industry veteran Jon Pollack as manager.
"FlightSafety's E-Learning program will further enhance the training we provide by giving our customers the flexibility and efficiency benefits of on-line training," said Bruce Whitman, President, FlightSafety International.
The E-Learning operation will establish and maintain a global electronic learning distribution system for FlightSafety training courses as well as courses offered by outside suppliers. It will provide FlightSafety customers with self-service "on-demand" training tailored to their specific needs and focus on interactivity and expert instruction. It will also enable FlightSafety to maximize the use of its courseware by making the content portable.
Jon Pollack, the new Manager of E-Learning, first joined the company in 1982 working at the FlightSafety Academy in Vero Beach, Florida. He transitioned to the West Palm Beach Learning Center where he held a number of positions including Product Marketing Manager and Director of Training. He was later promoted to Manager of the company's Learning Center in Toronto, Canada prior to serving at FlightSafety Boeing as Director of Operations for the Boeing Business Jet training program.
Pollack left the company in 2000 and worked in an electronic records and scheduling management firm and was also involved in web content development and delivery. Jon is an ATP rated helicopter and fixed wing aircraft pilot.
"We are pleased that Jon has returned to FlightSafety to lead this key initiative," said Greg McGowan, Vice President Operations, FlightSafety International. "Jon has the experience and expertise in E-Learning necessary to effectively manage this new operation and to maximize the benefits our customers will receive through E-Learning programs."
FlightSafety's customers will benefit from a wide variety of new E-Learning programs and have the ability to supplement their in-center training, review recent learning activities and prepare for upcoming courses. It will also provide those who are not currently training with FlightSafety with the opportunity to experience the quality and depth of the company's training programs in an E-Learning environment.
