People News: Watkins Named Landmark Aviation VP of Technology

TEMPE, Ariz. Feb. 21, 2006 — Landmark Aviation today named Brian Watkins as its new Vice President of Technology, responsible for all engineering activities and the development of new programs, including Supplemental Type Certificates (STCs).

"Brian will bring strength to this critical role in the organization," said Shawn Vick, President. "He has vast experience in the business aviation industry, and Landmark will be the beneficiary of his deep technical understanding of aircraft service in both the civilian and military arenas."

Watkins' previous experience includes his early career at Lear Astronics Corp. in Santa Monica, Calif., as a Systems Engineer on military flight control systems. He then worked at Learjet in Wichita, Kansas, as Group Engineer for Electrical and Avionics. He also worked at Lockheed Martin as Project Engineer on U.S. Navy avionics upgrade programs. In 1998, Watkins joined Garrett Aviation Services, a predecessor Landmark Aviation company, as Chief Engineer. In 2000 he became Director of Engineering and in 2002, Director of Program Management.

He holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Western Michigan University.
