Aircraft Braking parent buys rival

K&F Industries Holdings Inc., parent of Akron's Aircraft Braking Systems Corp., announced it has acquired Nasco Aircraft Brake Inc. for about $19 million.

Nasco is in Gardena, Calif., and supplies aircraft wheel and brake components for the military and commercial aircraft markets. Boeing, Fokker, Northrop Grumman, Lockheed Martin and General Dynamics use Nasco products.

Nasco generated about $11 million in sales in 2005.

The acquisition was made using cash on hand, K&F said.

K&F is headquartered in White Plains, N.Y.
