Aviation Industry Expo 2006 has a Blockbuster Year

April 28, 2006
More than 5,500 professionals attended this year's show, a 7% increase over last year's.

(April 27, 2006 - Las Vegas , NV ) -- Cygnus Expositions, owner and producer Aviation Industry Expo, the premier business and service event for aircraft maintenance, safety, ground support, and FBO services, has announced that more than 5,500 professionals attended this year's show. This was a 7% increase over last year's attendance. Industry personnel from around the world gathered in Las Vegas, March 28-30, to share ideas, receive the latest information and technical training, preview new products and services, and discuss new ways of conducting business.

"We are extremely pleased with the continued and expanded support for this annual event," says Jill Ryan, Show Director. "The exhibit floor was filled with qualified buyers doing business and feedback on the GSExpo, NATA and PAMA seminars were outstanding. We have raised the bar for ourselves again for next year's show."

Aviation Industry Expo attracted thousands of key decision-makers in the commercial, corporate and general aviation industries, manufacturers, and managers of airport-based businesses. The packed exhibit hall featured the products and services of more than 450 companies on over 103,000 net square feet of exhibit space. On display were the latest in ground support equipment, services and solutions, aircraft interiors and accessories, maintenance parts and supplies, fueling, training and avionics. With complimentary responses from attendees and exhibitors alike, the show's success has already generated an exhibit floor that is 50% sold out for the 2007 event.

"The show floor was full of customers and potential customers for the entire run of the show," says Bob McMichael, Sales & Marketing, AERO Specialties, Inc. "The exposure we get at Aviation Industry Expo is invaluable and has played an important part in our substantial growth during the past several years. We have already closed several new customer sales directly from the show, and expect more to come throughout the year."

Aviation Industry Expo also boasted a strong conference program. GSExpo International Expo hosted a series of seminars focusing on key issues facing GSE providers and operators, including alternative fuels, preparing for the A380, and the future of aviation and implications for GSE manufacturers and operators. A series of 32 Business Briefs and Tech Talks were added to the conference program this year as well. These presentations were industry lectures/discussions held on the show floor to provide an even more comprehensive conference program.

The National Air Transportation Association (NATA) and The Professional Aviation Maintenance Association (PAMA), co-sponsors of Aviation Industry Expo, held their annual conferences in conjunction with the show. Together, NATA and PAMA's participation provided unique networking and educational opportunities, helping to make the show a complete event.

PAMA offered a number of professional development workshops, including sessions on Accident Investigation and Maintenance Resource Management. In addition, PAMA was host to the Aviation Maintenance Olympics and the Chili Cook-Off. They provided high quality seminars and events that were very well-attended.

The NATA seminars offered at the convention on customer service, safety and security, tax issues, and operations provided attendees important tools and information to help grow their businesses for the future and succeed. Additionally, discussion on a wide range of policy and regulatory issues were provided for attendees to better prepare for upcoming changes and adapt to the regulatory environment of this industry.
