Cirrus Receives Chinese Certification

Duluth, Minn. (July 20, 2006) Cirrus Design Corporation announced today it has received full certification for the SR20 and SR22 from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC). This is significant news for CIRRUS and potential owners in China. CAAC certification will also expedite development of market specific products that address the wants and needs of Chinese customers.

CIRRUS has a five-year corporate plan to boost visibility and accessibility of personal aviation in China and South East Asia. By working with the CAAC on regulations and infrastructure development, CIRRUS hopes to expand the use of personal aviation in the region overall.

"CIRRUS has worked closely with the CAAC, which has given generously of its time and focus to make this certification a reality," said CIRRUS Regional Director of China and South-East Asia, Peter Claeys. The Chinese sales team, based in Shanghai, has been demonstrating a CIRRUS SR22 GTS since May 2006 and expects to sell ten to twelve airplanes in the first year.
