ORLANDO – Tronair has purchased Jetporter. The two are recognized leaders in different facets of the aviation ground support industry.
Functioning as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tronair, Jetporter will engineer, manufacture and distribute electric towbarless tugs. Its tugs currently handle single, engine pistons to 100,000 pound aircraft.
"Tronair is the distinct market leader for many ground support equipment products and Jetporter's products are a natural fits," said Ken Greene, Tronair CEO. "Our strong engineering team has identified additional designs that will hit the market soon to support the expanding customer demand for towbarless tugs. The combination will allow Jetporter to meet customer expectations on delivery and product support with offices and service centers in the U.S., Europe and Asia."
Tronair is a unit of River Capital, a private investment firm.
ORLANDO – Lansing Community College has signed an agreement with Corridor Aviation Service Software to add Corridor’s software to its Aviation Maintenance Program’s curriculum.
Developed by Corridor, the software – Continuum Applied Technology – manages all aspects of aviation maintenance. Lansing will be the first school using the program. The Lansing program trains students with hands-on experience, simulating the real world of the industry.
ORLANDO – Aero Precision Repair and Overhaul Co. will now handle the overhaul and repair work on the Piaggio P180 Avanti landing gear.
Aero Precision, also known as A-Pro, has been approved for the work by both Piaggio and Messier Dowty, the manufacturer of the landing gear.
A-Pro has extensive overhaul experience with the Dassault Falcon, ATR, Dornier, Sikorsky and Embraer.
ORLANDO – Aircraft Technical Publishers has announced three new products this month.
The California-based company introduced NavigatorV for the general aviation community. The online reference service offers faster access to products and changes in the ATP libraries. The new LogIT tool means users can maintain a record of all documents used for a specific aircraft or work order, save highlighted documents in an HTML format, and keeps it all in one place. Users can also link to Form 337 online so they are always current with the FAA.
In another development, ATP announced that has added the PA-32 series to its Piper CD library. The PA-32 joins the PA-28, PA-31 and PA-42 series, which were made available on CD late last year. ATP has been delivering the Piper series publications for many years.
ATP’s Regulatory Library is now EASA-compliant. The library includes EASA published ADs, type certificates, regulations, implementing rules, acceptable means of compliance and guidance material. The EASA material is available through the ATP NavigatorV desktop viewer. ATP anticipates that the EASA compliance library will be available in April.
