PARIS — Singapore Technologies Aerospace Ltd (ST Aerospace) awarded Derco Aerospace, Inc. a contract to participate in a portion of the aircraft modernization program awarded by the Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) for its C-130 fleet. The scope of Derco’s contract includes the installation of the Auxiliary Power Units (APU) and improved Environmental Control Systems (ECS) on four RSAF C-130 aircraft.
"Derco is pleased to support ST Aerospace on this critical aircraft modernization program," said Bill Ochsner, President of Derco Aerospace. "Derco was able to provide the RSAF a cost-effective solution, specifically designed to meet its requirements, adding years of capability to its C-130 fleet."
In addition to the kits and materials required for the upgrades, Derco will provide program management, training, technical documentation, and technical support required for the APU and ECS upgrades.
With the APU and ECS modification, the RSAF will benefit from temperature control, inflight operation, and improved start response features that are standard on post 1974 C-130 models.
