US Airways (NYSE: LCC) has completed the International Air Transport Association's (IATA) International Operational Safety Audit registry (IOSA).
The airline said the audit's scope included flight operations, operations control, maintenance, in-flight services, ground operations, cargo and security. Within each of these areas auditors determined conformance of US Airways' procedures to IOSA standards and recommended practices contained in the IOSA Standards Manual. The final results showed that US Airways conformed to every IOSA standard.
According to US Airways, successful completion of the audit results in a listing on the IOSA Registry, which is a requirement for IATA membership and US Airways' continued STAR Alliance membership. US Airways has been listed on the IOSA Registry since 2004.
