Langley, British Columbia - ACROHELIPRO Global Services Inc. (ACROHELIPRO), a subsidiary of Vector Aerospace Corporation, announces ACROHELIPRO's teaming with Carson Helicopters (Carson) to outfit the first two of Carson’s fleet of Sikorsky S-61's with SAGEM Avionic's (SAGEM) Integrated Cockpit Display System (ICDS) retrofit. In addition, Carson has selected to work with ACROHELIPRO on an S-61 airframe rewire program for 10 helicopters, with the work taking place over the next two and a half years.

The innovative system pioneered by Carson, SAGEM and ACROHELIPRO that has previously been integrated by ACROHELIPRO into the Bell 205, 206 and 210 platforms, includes five 10-inch cockpit displays. Each system also incorporates two Primary Flight Displays (PFD) and two Multi-Function Displays (MFD); one for both the pilot and co-pilot. An additional centre instrument panel-mounted MFD houses a Caution Advisory Panel (CAS) to facilitate easy-viewing by both pilot and co-pilot.

Elvis Moniz, ACROHELIPRO's Director of Avionics explains that the teaming arrangement between Carson Helicopters and ACROHELIPRO is a direct result of both company's continuing dedication to identifying and developing safer, more reliable and cost-effective products, services and upgrade solutions for legacy helicopter operators.

"We are very pleased to be working with Carson Helicopters on this project. They are arguably the largest and most innovative S-61 operator in the world, and they make it a point to outfit their fleet with the best, state-of-the art equipment. Carson's leadership recognizes ACROHELIPRO Global Services and SAGEM as the established and proven industry-leaders in this field," states Moniz.

Frank Carson (of Carson Helicopters) specifies the decision to team with ACROHELIPRO on both the glass cockpit integration and the additional 10 helicopter re-wires is due to ACROHELIPRO’s successful track-record the glass cockpit upgrade and the expertise acquired from successfully undertaking numerous other complex avionics integration programs over the years.
