Steps to Help Travellers Affected by Hurricane Dean Announced by Delta

Travellers booked on flights to or from select cities in Mexico and the Caribbean with Delta Air Lines (DAL:NYSE) may make adjustments to travel schedules in preparation for Hurricane Dean.

The carrier is operating extra flights into markets including Kingston Jamaica, Montego Bay Jamaica, and Grand Cayman to help passengers trying to leave these islands.

The airline said that customers with travel plans in the Caribbean during the next several days should ensure their trip may continue as planned due to restrictions at some airports and possible long-term damage in the region.

Customers who purchased tickets by 16 August 2007 and are scheduled to travel between 17 August 2007 and 25 August 2007, to, from or through Belize City, Belize; Cancun, Mexico; Cozumel, Mexico; Merida, Mexico; on Delta, Delta Connection or Delta-coded flights, may make a one-time change without penalty or additional fees if tickets are changed by 25 August 2007.

In addition customers who purchased tickets by 15 August 2007 and are scheduled to travel between 16 August 2007 and 22 August 2007, to, from or through Antigua; Barbados; Martinique; Grand Cayman; Kingston; Jamaica; Montego Bay, Jamaica; Guadeloupe; Punta Cana; Santo Domingo; Santiago, Dominican Republic; St. Maarten; and St. Lucia on Delta, Delta Connection or Delta-coded flights, may make a one-time change without penalty or additional fees if tickets are changed by 22 August 2007.
