Mexicana de Aviación (MXA), the fourth oldest airline in the world, and Lufthansa Technik, the world's leading supplier of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for aircraft, their components and engines, have signed an agreement on the technical support of Mexicana's Airbus A320 and A319 fleets.
Over the next three years, Lufthansa Technik will supply the 47-aircraft A320 family fleet with components from Fort Lauderdale airport (FLL), Florida under a Total Component Maintenance TCM contract. Lufthansa Technik operates a central components and materials warehouse for the growing Airbus fleet at Hollywood International Airport in Fort Lauderdale.
The contract will enable Mexicana de Aviación to benefit from technically advanced component repair procedures and full 24/7 provisioning. Over 250 part numbers of line replaceable units (LRU) have been selected.
Based in Mexico City International Airport, Mexicana flies to over 50 destinations in America and the Caribbean and carried over nine million passengers in 2006.
