IWG Launches New Generation Intelligent Water Treatment Unit at NBAA

Sept. 20, 2007
Lighter in weight than its predecessor, the IWG-A4 is electronically and physically more robust. Ease of maintenance was a key design feature, addressed through a new modular design.

Burnaby, BC, Canada - International Water-Guard Industries Inc., the world leader in aircraft water treatment, is pleased to announce the introduction of the new IWG-A4 - first of a new generation of ‘intelligent’ water treatment units. This new product will be on display at the National Business Aviation Association Convention in Atlanta, Sept. 25-27.

“With the IWG-A4, our goal was to advance the capabilities of our water treatment units to match the most current and anticipated requirements of the aviation industry. This includes self-monitoring and communications capabilities to integrate our product into any cabin or maintenance environment,” said David Fox, president and CEO. “To do that, we literally went back to the drawing board to create an ‘intelligent’ water treatment unit. The result was a huge step forward in capability. We’re very proud of it, and will incorporate these design principles into all of our future products.”

Lighter in weight than its predecessor, the IWG-A4 is electronically and physically more robust. Ease of maintenance was a key design feature, addressed through a new modular design.

The IWG-A4 is also equipped with enhanced self-monitoring capability, Fox explained. While ensuring adequate ultraviolet light is produced to disinfect the aircraft’s water supplies, the IWGA4’s new system also scans for a range of fault conditions, which can be reported to a cabin management system through standard industry data protocols.

International Water-Guard is a Canadian aerospace company focusing on aircraft potable water treatment and full water system solutions. With expertise in all aspects of water treatment, IWG has the products and knowledge to provide high quality water for passengers and crew, as well as lightweight, space saving solutions for the aircraft operator.
