GREENVILLE, S.C. (Sept. 25, 2007) - Continuing its commitment to safety and innovation, Michelin Aircraft Tire Company LLC announced today the certification of over 1,000 individuals through the Michelin® Certified Aircraft Tire Expert Program over the last three years. Exclusively designed for the aviation industry, the program offers a full suite of information on proper tire maintenance to ensure exceptional performance. When completed, the program is worth five hours of time for annual IA renewal (FAA Inspector of Aircraft).

The Michelin Certified Tire Expert Program is a highly focused and efficient, proficiency-based training program designed to provide users with a greater understanding of tire construction, care and service. Unique to the industry, the program is offered electronically or in a two-stage manual format. Actual classroom time is not required and there is no charge for the course, however, a passing score is required to be eligible for the renewal hours.

"We are pleased to see so many aviation professionals taking advantage of such a valuable tool," said Keat Pruszenski, Michelin Aircraft Tire Company, LLC technical sales manager. "The training course challenges individuals to think about effective tire maintenance and the impact it has on safety."

The program is being promoted in conjunction with the annual National Business Aviation Association, Inc. trade show (NBAA) in Atlanta, Ga. from Sept, 25-27. Attendees will be able to receive training information and materials for registration on-site.

"It is our goal to familiarize NBAA event attendees with the program, and communicate the benefits of becoming certified," adds Pruszenski.

The training program offers education on topics such as, but not limited to:

• Storing tires and tubes

• Wheel assembly and inspection

• Wear levels

• Removal criteria

• Wheel assembly troubleshooting

Each course is designed to build upon the next, so it is recommended completing Level One and Level Two sequentially.
