Pratt & Whitney Global Material Solutions and United Services Sign MRO Agreement

SHANGHAI , China, Oct. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Pratt & Whitney and United Services signed a service agreement to offer new Global Material Solutions parts to United Services' third-party engine maintenance customers. The Global Material Solutions (GMS) parts portfolio includes 48 interchangeable life-limited and gas-path replacement parts for the CFM56-3 engine. Pratt & Whitney is a United Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) company.

Global Material Solutions is an industry-revolutionizing initiative delivering Pratt & Whitney OEM-quality life-limited and gas-path parts for the CFM56-3 engine at a competitive price. The business' airline customers include United Airlines, Jet2.com and an undisclosed airline in China. The first new part, the HPT shroud, was certified and delivered in July 2007 and all 48 new parts are expected to be certified and enter service in 2008.
