Jet Aviation to Provide Maintenance Services at Moscow’s Vnukovo International Airport

Jet Aviation will be the first global business aviation maintenance company to serve the growing business aviation community in Russia.

Moscow -– Jet Aviation and Vnukovo Invest have signed agreements which will allow Jet Aviation to provide maintenance services at Moscow Vnukovo International Airport within the next weeks. Jet Aviation will be the first global business aviation maintenance company to serve the growing business aviation community in Russia and the company’s clients who regularly fly to and from Moscow. Vnukovo airport is Moscow’s busiest airport for corporate aviation and handles nearly 70% of all business aviation traffic in Russia.

With its high concentration of business aircraft and its prime location south-west of Moscow city center, we are now convinced that Vnukovo is the right airport for Jet Aviation to expand its services. At Vnukovo International Airport, one of the largest air transportation hubs in Russia, Jet Aviation will provide line maintenance, defect rectification and AOG services from a state-of-the-art hangar which is located next to the Vnukovo 3 FBO building. Jet Aviation will initially be staffed with a selected group of highly professional technicians and will expanding the facility continuously within the next few months.

Over the next few months, project manager Alexander Schlag will oversee the entire set-up phase of the Jet Aviation Moscow operation, which will be a local representation of Jet Aviation Dusseldorf. Schlag reports to Johannes Turzer, senior vice president and general manager for Jet Aviation’s German maintenance and FBO operations. Currently, negotiations with all major OEMs to obtain authorized service center status for the company’s new maintenance location in Moscow are well under way and first agreements will be announced within the next few weeks.

Jet Aviation will become the first global independent business aviation services company operating in the growing Russian market. Currently, corporate and private aircraft movements there are soaring, reaching growth rates of an average of 25% annually, highly concentrated in the Moscow area where Vnukovo International Airport reported an increase of 50% in 2007 compared to the previous year.
