United Airlines Names Tracy Elving Vice President - Base Maintenance

Elving will be responsible for engine, components and airframe maintenance for United's fleet, customer work at the San Francisco Base and oversight of all outsourced airframe maintenance worldwide.

CHICAGO, Dec. 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/-- UAL Corporation (Nasdaq: UAUA), the holding company whose primary subsidiary is United Airlines, today announced that Tracy M. Elving has been named vice president - Base Maintenance for United Services. Joining United from General Electric, Elving will be responsible for engine, components and airframe maintenance for United's fleet, customer work at the San Francisco Base and oversight of all outsourced airframe maintenance worldwide.

Elving brings more than 20 years experience in aviation engineering and manufacturing to United. Most recently, Elving served as the vice president, Lockheed Martin Account for General Electric, where she was responsible for all GE Aviation Systems products to Lockheed Martin and the development plans for all GE Aviation Systems product lines. Elving also held leadership positions at United Technologies Corporation and Northrop Grumman Corporation.

Elving will assume her role on Jan. 7, 2008, and will report directly to Norman.
