Russell Otowchits Promoted to Avionics Service Manager at Banyan

Fort Lauderdale, FL – Banyan Air Service located at Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport recently promoted Russell Otowchits from avionics technician to avionics service manager. Russell’s new responsibilities include ensuring customers receive quality avionics service, bench work and instrument work in accordance with FAA/EASA standards delivered on-time as quoted.
“Russell’s extensive avionics career coupled with his excellent people skills makes him well qualified for the challenging position of avionics service manager,” stated Brian Wilson, Banyan’s director of avionics.
Russell’s avionics career started in 1991 as an avionics technician for the United States Navy then later a shop supervisor. After the Navy, he held positions at Greenwich/GE Engine Services, Certified Aircraft Parts, Miami Aircraft Corporation, and Mesaba Airlines. His roles ranged from avionics supervisor, quality control inspector, accessories technician, A&P technician, and avionics technician.
Banyan’s avionics department offers comprehensive avionics installations, repairs, modifications, and is an authorized dealer for all major avionics manufacturers. Banyan’s avionics department is certified as both an FAA and EASA repair station and has also earned repair station designations for Argentina, Brazil, and Venezuela.
In addition to avionics services, Banyan is a 24-hour, full-service fixed base operation, with more than 1 million square feet of hangar and office space within an 85-acre aviation complex.
