Careers in Aviation announces the appointment of Jamail Larkins as Chairman of the Board for a three-year term, beginning in 2008. Larkins, a 2006 graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, joined Careers in Aviation in 2002 as the national spokesperson for the non-profit organization.

“I have always been passionate about promoting the aviation industry,” says Larkins. “I was given so many opportunities to fulfill my aviation dreams and I want to help give that same opportunity to other kids. Careers in Aviation’s sole purpose is to assist young people in realizing and achieving aviation careers and I am privileged to be a part of the organization.”

In addition to his role with Careers in Aviation, Larkins founded a nationwide tour designed to educate students about their career opportunities in the aviation industry, the DreamLaunch Tour, in 2004. In 2005, FAA Administrator Marion C. Blakey appointed Larkins as the first ambassador for aviation and space education. In this capacity, Larkins acts as an official representative of the FAA, promoting aviation career opportunities to America’s youth, as well as the benefits of aviation to mainstream America.
