WICHITA, Kan. (Feb. 15, 2008) - Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC), the world’s leading business, special-mission and trainer aircraft manufacturer, announced today a planned $14 million investment at their Indianapolis Hawker Beechcraft Services (HBS) aircraft maintenance and service facility at Indianapolis International Airport. The growth includes a state-of-the-art maintenance center and the creation of up to 50 new jobs.
The new investment will enable the construction of new HBS facilities near the current Pierson Drive location to include a 6,500-square-foot terminal and a 40,000-square-foot service hangar with 20,000 square feet of back shops and administrative offices. The hangar will serve as a factory service center for the company’s entire aircraft line, including the next-generation, all composite fuselage Hawker 4000, scheduled to enter the market soon.

Indianapolis is one of seven U.S. locations where HBS is planning to significantly expand its customer service and maintenance offerings. Headquartered in Wichita, Hawker Beechcraft Services has leased space in Indianapolis for 37 years and has 73 full-time employees. HBS expects to add an additional 40-50 jobs over three to five years in its service and avionics departments once the development is complete.

Its facility can accommodate any aircraft ranging from the high-performance single-engine piston, the Beechcraft Bonanza, to the company’s flagship super mid-sized jet, the Hawker 4000.
The transaction includes fuel and line operations at seven domestic U.S. locations in: Atlanta, Ga.; Houston and San Antonio, Texas; Indianapolis, Ind.; Tampa, Fla.; Wichita, Kan.; and Van Nuys, Ca.
Dan Frahm has joined Hawker Beechcraft Services (HBS) to lead sales and marketing efforts in the Great Lakes Region.
The new HBS service center will also now be offering custom interior modification services, with paint capabilities becoming available this fall.
