Hamilton Sundstrand, Rockford, IL, Bargaining Unit Approves New Contract

Local 592 of the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW), representing hourly employees at Hamilton Sundstrand in Rockford, Ill., ratified a new three-year labor contract today, by a vote of 92 percent in favor.

WINDSOR LOCKS, Conn., May 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Local 592 of the United Automobile, Aerospace and Agricultural Implement Workers of America (UAW), representing hourly employees at Hamilton Sundstrand in Rockford, Ill., ratified a new three-year labor contract today, by a vote of 92 percent in favor.

Hamilton Sundstrand, a subsidiary of United Technologies Corporation (NYSE: UTX), is headquartered in Windsor Locks, Conn. The agreement covers more than 400 production and maintenance employees in Rockford.

Doug Balsbough, vice president of human resources said, "We are pleased that Hamilton Sundstrand employees have ratified the contract. The negotiating teams for both the company and the union worked hard to reach an agreement acceptable to both sides."

With 2007 revenues of $5.6 billion, Hamilton Sundstrand employs approximately 18,600 people worldwide.
