Maresca Appointed President, COO of Argosy International

NEW YORK, June 10, 2008 – The appointment of Dr. Louis M. Maresca as president and chief operating officer of Argosy International was announced today by Paul Marks, Chairman and CEO of Argosy.

Most recently, Maresca was vice president of operations for GLS Corporation, a major producer of thermoplastic elastomers, where he was responsible for global manufacturing, purchasing, planning, logistics, and customer service. Prior to GLS, Maresca was president of the Performance Chemicals Group of Great Lakes Chemical Corp. and, before that, vice president and general manager of the Geon Company’s vinyl resin business. Earlier, he served as general manager of technology for GE’s Plastics Division.

Maresca earned his Ph.D in organic chemistry from Columbia University in 1976 after receiving a B.S (cum laude with honors) from Brooklyn College in 1972. In addition, he earned an Executive MBA from Case Western in 1995. He is the inventor or co-inventor on 62 U.S. patents and has served on numerous business and community boards.
