FARNBOROUGH AIR SHOW, July 14, 2008 – Derco Aerospace, Inc., a unit of Sikorsky Aerospace Services, and AIROD signed an agreement today to establish a C-130 propeller shop at AIROD’s facility in Subang, Malaysia. As the prime contractor for the program, Derco, in conjunction with Hamilton Sundstrand, the original equipment manufacturer, will provide all spares, tooling, technical data, and training needed for the propeller shop. Sikorsky Aerospace Services is a division of Sikorsky Aircraft Corp. Both Sikorsky Aircraft and Hamilton Sundstrand are United Technologies Corp. (NYSE:UTX) companies.

“Due to the size of the propeller, the logistics associated with trans-oceanic shipments have always presented challenges for the user community,” said Doug Haskins, Derco’s Director of Technical Solutions. “By establishing a propeller shop at a respected and technically capable maintenance facility with which both Derco and the end users have long-standing relationships, we can immediately improve propeller overhaul turn-around times.”
