Gulfstream Appoints Todd Strong Director of Engineering and Quality at Long Beach Facility

In this position, he is responsible for managing the functions and personnel associated with Final Phase Engineering, Service Center Engineering, Designated Alteration Station (DAS), Quality Control and Quality Assurance.

SAVANNAH, Ga., July 25, 2008 – Gulfstream Aerospace, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE:GD), has appointed Todd Strong director, engineering and quality, for the facility in Long Beach, Calif. In this position, he is responsible for managing the functions and personnel associated with Final Phase Engineering, Service Center Engineering, Designated Alteration Station (DAS), Quality Control and Quality Assurance.

Strong joined Gulfstream in 1999. He most recently served as engineering manager for the Long Beach facility, where he developed plans for transitioning the engineering organization to Computer-Aided Three-Dimensional Interactive Application Version Five (CATIA V5). He also eliminated redundant functions by integrating service and completion engineering into a single engineering department.

Strong has 23 years of aviation experience. Before joining Gulfstream, he worked for Boeing Aircraft Co., Long Beach, as a senior manager for mechanical systems engineering, specializing in flight-control, hydraulic and landing-gear systems.

Strong earned a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He reports to Barry Russell, vice president and general manager, Gulfstream, Long Beach.
