Lufthansa Technik Budapest and Austrian Airlines Sign Maintenance Contract

Lufthansa Technik Budapest (LTB) and Austrian Airlines AG (AUA) have signed a three-year contract regarding heavy maintenance checks for 20 Airbus A320.

Lufthansa Technik Budapest (LTB) and Austrian Airlines AG (AUA) have signed a three-year contract regarding heavy maintenance checks for 20 Airbus A320. This contract follows a first maintenance agreement between the two companies which had been signed in 2003.

"Austrian Airlines was our first external customer after the foundation of Lufthansa Technik Budapest in 2001. Therefore we have built up a very special relationship with Austrian Airlines", said Elmar Lutter, CEO of LTB since 1 September 2008. "We are very proud that we have been selected again by the airline to do heavy checks on their fleet. This is also a clear signal to our employees that they have done a great job over the past years."

Lufthansa Technik Budapest was founded in 2001 as a Joint Venture between Lufthansa Technik (85%) and Hungarian Airlines Malev (15%). Today, 350 employees achieve an annual turnover of about 30 million Euro with aircraft base maintenance on narrowbodies of the Airbus A320 and the Boeing 737 families for a number of customers.
