TAS delivers first helicopter in a fleet of fixed wing primarily used for VIP personal travel.

FORT WORTH, TX — Texas Aviation Services (TAS) (a provider of helicopter and aircraft completions, MRO, and maintenance services for more than 37 years) recently delivered a new Bell Helicopter model 407 to one of its customers from Mexico, Aerolineas Marcos, a corporate charter service between Mexico and the United States.

This is their first helicopter in a fleet of fixed wing primarily used for VIP personal travel. TAS installed an elegant interior that included the five-place passenger seats, two crew seats and the center fold-down armrest to be upholstered with high grade leather. All seatbelts were re-webbed to match the interior. The passenger door pockets and the two rear overhead panels were recovered to match the corporate layout. The cockpit and cabin floorings were covered with matching plush carpet and the baggage compartment floor received Lon Coin flooring.

The avionics package included a Garmin suite consisting of a GNS-530W, GPS/NAV/COMM WAAS and a GTX-330 digital transponder. Other integrated avionics systems were the Honeywell KR-87 ADF with KI-227 indicator, HSI with KI-525, blind encoder, radar altimeter, remote DME with display, skywatch, and stormscope. TAS also installed an in-flight entertainment system that incorporated a DVD/CD/MP3 player and a 10-inch monitor that display the Air Show CPU and DVD.

In addition to the avionics package, TAS installed an assortment of customizing kits for comfort and ease of maintenance. These items include a fuel filler area protector, five door opener kit, baggage floor protectors, spacemaker, deluxe slant panel, wire strike system, air conditioner, strobe lights, window locks, headset hooks, locking fuel cap, and a preflight kit with two additional step handles.
