John Wade Joins Aircell to Lead Business Aviation Services

Industry veteran joins airborne communications provider.

BROOMFIELD, CO – Aircell, a provider of airborne communications, announces that aviation industry veteran John Wade has joined the company as Senior Vice President and General Manager - Business Aviation Services.

Wade will be responsible for overseeing the success and direction of Aircell’s Business Aviation Services division in Broomfield, CO. As part of Aircell’s senior leadership team, he will also assist CEO Jack Blumenstein in developing and meeting the Business Aviation group’s business plans, as well as interacting with the company’s Commercial Aviation division.

“John’s deep knowledge of inflight communications and the competitive landscape, coupled with his industry history and status make him ideally suited to lead our Business Aviation Services division,” says Blumenstein. “With John as part of our leadership team, we are now even better equipped to build on the company’s industry leading position, driving the identification, creation, sale and support of innovative, high quality products, and services.”

Wade brings more than 20 years of experience in avionics and inflight communications. Prior to joining Aircell, he served as Chief Technical Officer and General Manager at inflight mobile phone and Internet provider OnAir. He was responsible for the company’s overall Internet business, including sales, strategy, customer relationship management, and product development. He has also held a number of increasingly senior executive positions at Tenzing Communications, PRIMEX Aerospace Company, and GEC Marconi In-Flight Systems, among others.

Wade received his education at the University of Brighton, U.K., where he earned a First Class B Engineering Honors Degree in Electronic Engineering and graduated at the top of his class. He is also the co-author of two patents.
