Deal to provide Total Component Support for up to 40 aircraft.

Lufthansa Technik AG and National Air Services (NAS) from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have signed a five year contract for Total Component Support (TCS) of up to 40 aircraft. The agreement includes services for several VIP and Executive-Jets based on narrowbody aircraft families.

Moreover, both Lufthansa Technik and NAS Group are currently evaluating intensively further opportunities to cooperate in aircraft maintenance.

The signing of the contract follows an agreement reached by NAS and Lufthansa Technik in May. Also included are maintenance works, repair and overhaul for components of the Airbus A320 family and regional jets of the Embraer 190/195 family, both in service with the company´s low-cost-subsidiary nasair. The contract makes NAS the launch customer for MRO of the Embraer 190/195 aircraft type with Lufthansa Technik.

On its base at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, National Air Services (NAS) is provided with a broad variety of services by Lufthansa Technik, ranging from the setup of a home base spare parts pool and on-site service to access to Lufthansa Technik´s worldwide pools and its highly qualified repair and overhaul facilities in Hamburg and Frankfurt.

"We are very proud and happy to see a firm follow-on contract to the agreement reached before," says Walter Heerdt, Senior Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Lufthansa Technik, during the signing ceremony at the Middle East Business Aviation convention (MEBA) in Dubai. "The signing of the contract underlines the confidence that NAS has in our TCS. We will be very pleased to justify this confidence in our product with outstanding reliability and service."

Sulaiman Al-Hamdan, CEO of the NAS Group, says that "through this strategic agreement, Lufthansa Technik, the world class leading company, will provide its technical and strategic support to NAS' fleet operations by providing an open access to Lufthansa Technik's aircraft parts pool and shops to support the private and VIP fleet as well as NAS' commercial fleet." He adds that the response time for any request by NAS will not exceed a few hours. "This will further enhance our services to our valued customers," he says.

With MRO services now offered for the Embraer 190 and 195, Lufthansa Technik is even further expanding its product portfolio into the regional jet market. To this day, its expertise in this sector already covers a wide spectrum of MRO and support services for regional jets of numerous aircraft types including the Bombardier CRJ-100/200/700/900-family, the AVRO RJ85 and BAe 146 as well as the Embraer ERJ-135/140/145-family. Additionally, Lufthansa Technik´s AERO Alzey facility is the leading independent service provider for the regional jet engine types PW100, PW150 and CF34-3, -8, -10.
