United Rotorcraft Solutions Completes NVG Mods for Air Method’s EC135 and BK117
Choppers received STC’d night vision modifications and customized exterior paint finishing.
DECATUR, TX -- United Rotorcraft Solutions (URS) delivered a Eurocopter EC135 and a BK117 with their STC’d night vision modifications to Air Methods Corporation (AMC). The helicopters also received customized exterior paint finishing.
Both FAA approved modifications incorporated the design utilizing filters that are externally mounted reducing installation time and cost. The external filters allow the modified component to remain generic thus retaining the advantages of local repair and/or overhaul. The filter material used greatly improves day light readability.
