BBA Aviation Names Gary K. Boekenkamp Vice President, Marketing, Acquisitions, and Strategic Business Development for its Legacy Products Group

Boekenkamp will be responsible for strategic planning and the identification and integration of new business acquisitions and development opportunities.

CHATSWORTH, CA -- BBA Aviation announces today that it has named industry veteran Gary K. Boekenkamp as Vice President, Marketing, Acquisitions, and Strategic Business development for its Legacy Products Group. Boekenkamp will be headquartered in Chatsworth, CA, and report to Jim Gerwien, President, BBA Aviation Legacy Products Group.

In his new role, Boekenkamp will be responsible for strategic planning and the identification and integration of new business acquisitions and development opportunities for the Legacy Products Group. Today this group includes Ontic Engineering & Manufacturing (www.ontic.com) and International Governor Services (www.internationalgovernor.com). He will also participate in the development and execution of BBA Aviation’s broader aftermarket strategy.

Boekenkamp’s background includes more than 28 years of management experience in the business, commercial and military aviation industries. He began his aviation career at Airwork Corporation in 1980 and held a variety of marketing, operations and executive management positions with Gulf+Western, Atlantic Aviation, Aviall, and Dallas Airmotive prior to joining Signature Flight Support as Senior Vice President of Marketing in 1998. He was appointed Vice President of Marketing for BBA Aviation Services Group in 2000. He later served as Vice President of Strategy & Business Development for BBA Aviation Flight Support Group which includes Signature Flight Support, a worldwide network of fixed base operations locations, and Aircraft Services International Group (ASIG), an industry leader in commercial airline fueling, ground handling, and cargo services.
